Remembering Francesca Cappucci: She was an entertainment reporter at KABC-TV. She died recently at 64.

Her passion for reporting on Hollywood’s happenings was well-known.

She stood out in particular when Quentin Tarantino, an acclaimed director, acknowledged her and named a starlet from Italy after her in his film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’.

Ms. Cappucci said that this was the best thing she had ever seen.

Francesca Cappucci was an active, healthy woman who never smoked nor used drugs. In July 2020, she was diagnosed as Stage 4 cancer.

Ian Lyndon was her oldest son and described her mother’s situation as an “extreme surprise” due to the unpredicted nature of it all.

He remembered her for being a champion of wellness, who ran every day, even though she was in her seventies.

Francesca’s kindness and compassion left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be laid to rest at Huntington Hospital, Pasadena.

Cappucci started her career in Los Angeles as a professional broadcaster. Cappucci, a veteran of KIQQ’s morning drive show made waves at KABC Channel 7 Eyewitness news, where she appeared on both their morning and afternoon editions for ten years.

Notably, she interviewed many of the music’s oldest icons, such as Rod Stewart, David Bowie and Michael Jackson, a testimony to her interviewing skills.

Francesca has died today after a three-decade long career in broadcasting.

She left the station after Ian was born but continued to be involved in the entertainment business by working with her son on Not Me 2018, a short film that starred Rudy Pankow, future Netflix Outer Banks star, and was shown at several film festivals.

Francesca Cappucci’s talent was undisputed. Cappucci was hired to play news reporters in high-profile projects like The Colbys and Columbo, 7th Heaven and The Practice.

Her film career was even more extensive, as she played a reporter on Beverly Hills Ninja in 1997. Cappucci has passed away, but her sons Ian, Will, and her brother Rafael, as well as her sister Isabella, are her survivors.

Francesca was close to her beloved friends Meredith Brooks, Diana Browne, and her sons, as well as her siblings, Gordon Fordyce.
